Wave Soldering
The primary in-line soldering technology developed for
Pin-Through-Hole Components (PTH)
Why Choose Nitrogen for Your Wave Soldering (or Wave Soldering) Process
Improved brazing quality
When the electronic components pass through the circuit boards, they pass over the solder pot. The creation of an inert atmosphere makes it possible to improve the wettability of the tin alloy, to properly carry out the rise of the metal through the orifices of the circuit and to reduce the defects of the brazed joints by up to 40%.
Reduction of slag formation
By inserting the solder pot with nitrogen during the brazing phase, the formation of slag can be reduced by up to 90%. Nitrogen protects the constituents of the solder pot from the air with a great impact in economic terms.
Reduction of flow consumption
Inerting with nitrogen during the assembly of the components on the printed circuit allows to reduce flux consumption by up to 40%, thanks to its protective action against oxidation and to the improvement of the wettability of the alloy.
Time-saving
The formation of slag is reduced with the inserting of your solder pots, your maintenance department is less stressed and the time spent maintaining the pots is greatly reduced.
An integrated offer for wave soldering under nitrogen
With Air Liquide, benefit from a tailor-made solution, reliable, safe and optimized according to your needs for your wave soldering process!
Nitrogen supply
In the assembly of electronic components on printed circuit boards, the gas used is nitrogen gas supplied either from:
· a liquid nitrogen storage equipped with atmospheric heaters,
· of an on-site production solution.
For each customer, the nitrogen requirement and the type of supply to be offered are defined by our teams of experts, according to the specifications, in order to achieve the optimum level of performance for your wave soldering process.
With Air Liquide, benefit from a tailor-made solution, reliable, safe, and optimized according to your needs for your wave soldering process!
Our application technologies for your process
Air Liquide offers you for your wave, a local nitrogen inerting system installed on the solder pot with a titanium mechanical part (frame). Its design is made to measure different designs in accordance with the geometry of the waves and the pot.
In the installation phase, the assembly of the system is precisely adjusted for its ideal placement in the pot between the waves.
At the end of the installation, a first series of prototype boards is produced to detect possible problems and evaluate the new soldering results.
To meet the specificity of your needs, there are two types of equipment:
INERTING HOOD-E, an optimal solder pot inerting system that uses porous nitrogen-fed injectors to maintain a very low level of residual oxygen throughout the wave soldering process.
The supply of hot nitrogen with the INERTING HOOD-EHT option , a patented system that increases the transfer of heat to the electronic card and reduces the clogging of the nitrogen diffusers.
Expertise and experience at your service
Our experts accompany you from the design of the optimal solution defined from your specifications to the implementation and start-up of your solution.
We train your teams in the use of nitrogen (eg safety, handling, etc.) as well as the maintenance of your equipment.
At your request, our experts carry out recurring or one-off audits of your wave soldering machines to ensure that your installations are operating optimally over time. They are also at your disposal to advise you if your process for assembling electronic boards were to change.
