Energy Transition

Global warming is a critical concern from a social and economical point of view. We have reached a turning point in ensuring a successful energy transition. At a time when policymakers, companies and investors across the world are working on the economic recovery, an opportunity has emerged to really make a difference and to focus on the ideal growth models that we envision for the future.

Along with the global community, Thailand is committed to play a part in supporting global climate action. It has recently announced its ambition to reduce peak 20% of emissions by 2030, reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and achieve net zero emissions by 2065.

In March 2021, Air Liquide announced its new 2025 climate objectives to peak emissions and ultimately leading to a net carbon neutrality in 2050, with an important milestone of reducing absolute emissions by 33% by 2035, and committed to working with its customers towards a low carbon, sustainable industry:

  • To start reducing its absolute CO2 emissions around 2025
  • To reach a 33% decrease of its Scope 1 & 2 CO2 emissions by 2035 compared to 2020
Aligned with Thailand’s long-term emissions development strategy, Air Liquide Thailand  is committed to working with its customers towards a low carbon, sustainable industry. As part of this global approach, Air Liquide leverages its technologies and experience to reduce the climate impact of its operations and offer low-carbon gas solutions that contribute to the reduction of our customers’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These goals can be realized through various routes using Air Liquide’s technologies such as, blue/green hydrogen production, Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) for chemicals production (eg. methanol, ammonia) or Carbon Capture for Sequestration (CCS), and converting natural gas to bio-feedstock in Air Liquide’s facilities.
